Cyanic acid is an inorganic substance with a chemical formula of HCNO. It is a volatile and corrosive liquid. It is highly toxic and has a strong bitter almond odor. It exhibits strong acidity in aqueous solution, and is unstable in nature. It is easy to polymerize and is hydrolyzed. This produces ammonia and carbon dioxide.
