Characteristics of polymer materials
One is large molecular weight (generally above 10,000), and the other is polydispersity of molecular weight distribution. That is, high molecular compounds are different from small molecules. After the polymerization process, they become a mixture of many polymers with different molecular weights. The molecular weight of a certain polymer we are talking about is actually an average molecular weight. Of course, calculating the average molecular weight is also divided into number average molecular weight, viscosity average molecular weight, weight average molecular weight and so on in different weights. Small molecules have a fixed molecular weight and are composed of molecules with a defined molecular weight. This is a characteristic difference between high polymers and small molecules.
