Cavitation hazard

1. Generate vibration and noise. When the bubble collapses, the liquid particles collide with each other and also hit the metal surface, generating noise of various frequencies. In severe cases, an explosion sound can be heard in the pump and the unit vibration is caused.

2. Reduce the performance of the pump. Cavitation generates a large number of bubbles, blocks the flow path, destroys the continuous flow of liquid in the pump, and significantly reduces the flow, lift and efficiency of the pump.

3. Destroy the overcurrent components. Due to the effects of mechanical ablation and electrochemical corrosion, the metal material is destroyed. Usually, the site damaged by the cavitation is near the impeller exit and near the drain inlet. In the initial stage of cavitation, there is a pitting on the surface of the metal, and then the surface is spongy, grooved, honeycomb, fish scale and other traces; in severe cases, the leaves or the front and rear cover perforations, or even the impeller rupture, causing serious accidents.
