Capillary phenomenon and surface tension coefficient

In the capillary phenomenon, the liquid rises and falls in height. The sign of h means rising or falling.

When the infiltration liquid rises, the contact angle is an acute angle; when the non-infiltration liquid falls, the contact angle is an obtuse angle.

Ascending height h=2*surface tension coefficient*cos contact angle/(liquid density*gravity acceleration g*capillary radius r).
