1. Symptomatic treatment
Patients should be strictly isolated, and their secretions and excrement should be disinfected according to the spore disinfection method. Intravenous fluids should be given when necessary, blood transfusion should be appropriate for severe bleeding. Patients with malignant skin edema can use adrenal cortex hormones, which are effective in controlling the development of local edema and reducing toxemia. Generally, hydrocortisone can be used for short-term intravenous infusion, but it must be used under the protection of penicillin. For those with DIC, heparin, dipyridamole (penshengding), etc. should be used in time.
2. Local treatment
In addition to taking specimens for diagnosis of local skin lesions, squeezing should not be avoided, and drainage should not be cut to prevent the spread of infection and sepsis. It can be washed locally with 1:2000 potassium permanganate solution, applied with tetracycline ointment, and wrapped with sterile gauze.
3. Pathogen treatment
For skin anthrax, penicillin is injected intramuscularly in divided doses for 7 to 10 days. Pulmonary anthrax, intestinal anthrax, meningitis and septic anthrax should be given intravenous drip, and combined with aminoglycosides, the course of treatment needs to be extended to more than 2 to 3 weeks.
Those who are allergic to penicillin can use antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin, tetracycline, streptomycin, erythromycin and chloramphenicol. Anti-anthrax serum therapy is currently less used. In addition to antibiotic treatment for severe toxemia, anti-anthrax serum can be injected intramuscularly or intravenously at the same time. Skin test is required before application.
