Advantages of triggers
Triggers can implement cascading changes through related tables in the database, but cascading referential integrity constraints can perform these changes more efficiently. Triggers can enforce more complex constraints than those defined by CHECK constraints. Unlike CHECK constraints, triggers can refer to columns in other tables.
