Activesludge is a general term for microbial groups and the organic and inorganic substances they are attached to. In 1912, Clark and Gage in the United Kingdom discovered that activated sludge can be divided into aerobic activated sludge and anaerobic granular activity. Sludge, activated sludge is mainly used to treat sewage.
